Citizens Energy Group, an Indianapolis-based utility, serves circa 900,000 individuals and a broad range of businesses, supplying natural gas, thermal energy, water and wastewater services. In July 2021, Citizens approached iLAB to support them with a range of testing-related services, during enhancement of the ESRI Enterprise System which includes advanced geospatial functionality and complex integration.

The engagement required a sophisticated testing strategy and approach, to deal with ESRI’s multi-layered architecture and intricate design. Standard automation tools typically suitable for testing engagements, weren’t appropriate in this case. An analysis by iLAB of 19 potential automation suites led them to select UFT One, for its relatively advanced capabilities.
