Group media services business Tusk improves Business Administration Training systems and processes for B4i Academy.

South Africa-based B4i Academy (‘B4i’) is part of The B4i Project, a private sector network of companies and service providers. B4i faced several challenges in delivering South African Qualifications Authority (‘SAQA’)-accredited courses, and Learners encountered problems uploading evidence portfolios, resulting in certification delays. In 2023, B4i approached Tusk to deal with the customization and associated system changes necessary to remedy the problems. Tusk implemented BaseCamp, a customized Moodle Learning Management System (‘LMS’) tailored to B4i's specific needs. Additionally, Tusk transformed existing Business Administration content into engaging e-learning material, deployed via the LMS.

BaseCamp and the new course material went live in April, for an initial cohort of 40 Learners in Pretoria and Johannesburg, with wider deployment now underway. The changes are expected to lead to meaningful improvements for Learners, and a dramatically improved SETA and QCTO external moderation process.‘The professionalism and cooperation exhibited by Tusk staff have been exemplary, and their expertise in e-learning and technical knowledge in implementing Moodle Learning Management Systems is highly commendable,’ said Werner Dyer, Managing Director at B4i.
