Group Elephant AWS specialist Valcann migrates WEG’s European subsidiary to SAP HANA on AWS.

WEG is a leader in Brazil’s electrical engineering and automation sectors but also has operations in other countries and is renowned for its diverse product portfolio encompassing electric motors, generators, transformers, drives and coatings. The European subsidiary is considered to have outsize strategic importance to WEG’s worldwide activities and employs a robust IT infrastructure to effectively support its expanding operations.

WEG recently engaged Valcann to migrate the European systems from SAP ECC to the cloud-based SAP HANA platform hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Valcann devised a plan to minimize disruption to regular business operations, while addressing data security, system performance and integration with existing applications.

Stringent security protocols were implemented to safeguard sensitive data. Additionally, Valcann implemented measures available through AWS to optimize system performance, resulting in faster data processing, improved response times, and a measurable and significant increase in system efficiency.
