Group business Valcann migrates steel giant Gerdau’s Brazil operation to AWS.

Brazil-based Group Elephant business Valcann, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) specialist, recently led the migration of systems for Gerdau, a leading multinational steel producer, to AWS.

The migration effort was designed to improve system scalability, performance and reliability, while lowering cost. A tough brief, but one that Valcann’s people managed to deliver upon with aplomb, on AWS Cloud infrastructure.

Harnessing state of the art AWS technology including Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS and Amazon VPC, Valcann architected, led and managed the migration of Gerdau's business-critical Brazil-based applications to the Cloud.

The migration has already yielded substantial, measurable benefits for Gerdau in the form of heightened scalability and agility, optimized cost structures, fortified security protocols and operational efficiencies.
