G3G Africa successfully migrates Aberdare Cables to SAP S/4HANA

G3G | Global SAP Partner for High-Growth Markets Africa successfully migrates Aberdare Cables to SAP S/4HANA.

G3G Africa is a Group Elephant business specializing in SAP’s S/4 Enterprise Resource Planning stack-based systems in Southern Africa.

With a 70-year history on the sub-continent, Aberdare Cables manufactures electrical cables for power transmission, generation and distribution, serving Energy, Building & Construction, Mining and Renewable Energy sectors.

As part of a campaign to fortify their competitive advantage in the local market and meaningfully lift operational efficiency, Aberdare engaged G3G to migrate their existing finance systems to SAP S/4HANA. Adoption of SAP’s S/4HANA technology has already yielded myriad and oftentimes dramatic improvements in functional and analytical capabilities for Aberdare. Under G3G's aegis, they relatively easily navigated the migration process, with minimal disruption. In the time since, Aberdare has already begun to harvest material benefits arising from or enabled by, the system change.

‘G3G adroitly migrated 20 years' worth of historical data into the new S/4 environment. Based on our initial evaluation process, we simply didn’t have confidence in other candidate service providers to achieve that grade of outcome, leading to us choosing G3G’, said Raven Mahabeer, General Manager of Information Management at Aberdare Cables. ‘The month after the migration we recorded a new high in monthly sales revenue, something that would likely not have been possible with less smooth a migration’, he added.

G3G also worked with Aberdare to hone and refine value chain processes, from order intake to final payment. Mobile applications were deployed for warehouse operations, expediting stock ordering and delivery. Powerful reporting and analytics have dramatically improved insights into the business for leaders and managers.
