Advance.io, a Group Elephant business, builds a Generative AI and Predictive AI-based system for a leading agricultural machinery services provider, to improve equipment maintenance.
Despite generating extensive equipment data needed to support maintenance, our client found that the data was not easily accessible by machinery owners and maintenance technicians, nor could it be practically made available in a usable form, within existing system constraints. To address this, they engaged Advance to build a predictive AI system to support troubleshooting, and to suggest answers to maintenance requirements.
Advance developed a chat-based Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system using LLM technology and drawing upon equipment data, service history and technical manuals. The chat interface allows technicians to easily diagnose and determine necessary actions, for speedier and more effective maintenance.The system has the capability to automatically ingest service history data from a cloud data warehouse containing many years of records from thousands of machines. This data forms the basis for predictive analytics models designed to preemptively identify potential maintenance issues.
Equipment owners would be alerted to potential problems before they cause significant downtime, which may contribute to machine life and reduced operational disruptions. The new system is currently in testing, and is nearing implementation.
