A brand-new AI book written by our very own Andrich van Wyk.

Andrich, an Associate Partner in EPI-USE Labs, is a Machine Learning & Data Science specialist. This month, he released his first book, entitled ‘Machine Learning with LightGBM and Python’. It is, at the risk of understatement, a formidable achievement.

The book introduces the reader to the basics of Machine Learning, before heading into Data Science best practices through practical case studies. Microsoft’s LightGBM, a versatile, high-performance learning framework, serves as the vehicle for learning ML techniques, with forays into the nuances and capabilities of gradient boosting machines.

Andrich concludes this masterclass in AI by delving into advanced topics surrounding MLOps, with chapters on AutoML, building scalable machine learning pipelines, and deploying ML models behind secure APIs on modern Cloud platforms like Amazon SageMaker.
